Inspired by last weekends assignment and Sfgirlbybay’s sunday in the city, I went with K and the children on a photo safari in town yesterday. We went to Grunerløkka, where we had lunch, shot some pictures and went for a stroll among the indie designer shops there. Later on we made our way to St.Hanshaugen, for an ice cream and a walk in the park. It was a beautiful day and a good time for everybody; I think this may be our new weekend activity! :)

We brought the new Diana+ too, and it was so much fun to use! We went to have the film developed afterwards, but it won’t be ready until next saturday. I’m very excited to see the results; I’ll post them here when they’re done!

We learned a few things when using the Diana+, and so here’s my first round of tips:

* Make sure that the film is thread tight enough around the take-up spool. If it’s got a lot of slack, you can easily damage both the film and your camera when trying to wind it up later on.

* You have more film to wind than you think before you get to the first shot.

* Always advance your film after taking a shot, even if you’re not shooting again right away. It’s impossible to remember otherwise, and you’ll end up with double exposures.

* Keep the lens cap on when the camera is not in use to prevent accidental exposures.

You can leave a response, or trackback from your own site.

I’m too trying to master the Diana+, and your report was really inspiring! I recently discovered the Diana, and realiced that photo without megapixels can also be hillarious fun! :)
